Give A Day-Get A Disney Day
Chad heard on t.v. about Disney's new promotion that if you gave a day of service you got a ticket to Disneyland. We were very excited to hear that we would be able to go for free, well, at least the tickets would be free. So, on Jan. 1st, we looked online to see what was available. We saw that the family could make blankets for an organization called ProjectLinus. The blankets are given to kids in the hospital or homeless shelters. We thought that this was a perfect match for our family. We know how important it is to have a blankie while you're in the hospital. We had a great time getting the fleece and then tying the fringe. We did this project with the Rasmussens and our nephew Brandon Juber. What a great opportunity for the kids to serve and we'll get a fun reward in the end! Chad did point out that true service is given without getting compensated. I'm so glad that he has learned this lesson and learned to give true service. But it was still fun giving this service and it will be even more fun to spend a day at Disneyland!!
